This international women's day, Hasanat decided to interview one of their amazing female volunteers on the ground in Gaza, she's a mother of 6, she has been displaced with her family, she struggles each day to find food and water and yet she still finds time to support her fellow women in Gaza and to translate our videos for us to Arabic. Here is her story:

Talking about international women days is not enough.. take action! 💪💪
Today, an estimated 57,200 households in Gaza are led by women — more than 1 in 7 families. These are not only widows, but mothers, sisters, and even young girls who have suddenly become the ones responsible for holding their families together.
They carry the weight of survival every day — navigating grief, fear, and loss while still trying to secure food, water, and safety for their families. Yet despite everything, their resilience remains extraordinary.
At Hasanat, we prioritise female-headed households in our aid distributions. Since October 2023, we have supported over 2,300 families led by women, ensuring aid reaches them safely and with dignity.
But the need remains immense.
If you want to support a female-headed household in Gaza, you can.
